West Ashley High School Center for Advanced Studies
About the Project
A 92,000 SF stand-alone classroom building, the CAS is being constructed adjacent to West Ashley High School. The 3-story facility is based around an advanced technology curriculum with support from local industry partners. Students will gain hands-on training that will prepare them for technology-based careers. The CAS will house programs for Auto Technology, Mechatronics and Welding in high bay spaces. Additional programs will include Media Technology, Biomedical and Health Sciences, Audiovisual Technology and Communications, Cybersecurity and Information Technology, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Pre-Engineering curriculum. Other features will include a Media Center, Maker Labs, and various spaces for collaborative, project-based learning.
