Design for a new four story marina store, restaurant and bar at Marlin Quay Marina in Murrells Inlet, SC.
An existing three story building was rehabilitated to accommodate 13,045 square feet of office space and 3,817 square feet of retail space. In association with C Design.
Located on the same site as Noble Smoke, Bossy Beulah’s Chicken shack houses an independent kitchen for serving supplemental fare (chicken sandwiches). This building was renovated as well as expanded to accommodate a new cooler, restrooms, and indoor/outdoor seating. The new facility includes approximately 1,400 SF of enclosed space as well as a patio, for a capacity of 60 people.
An urban infill redevelopment, Morris Square occupies two city blocks in downtown Charleston. This mixed-use community features single family residential, multi-family residential, and commercial spaces, as well as parks and streetscapes. The design of the public spaces includes Simonton Park, a small urban pocket park, and a city piazza which is the focal point of the commercial spaces. This project also featured land swaps and the relocation and restoration of an early African-American praise house.
Noble Smoke BBQ is located on Freedom Drive on the western corridor of the city. SGA|NW was the architect of record for re-purposing the 10,000 SF old bus depot building. The space includes a 1,400 SF event space, a 200-person patio and a biergarten. In this unique project, Hyde Brewing teamed up with Chef Jim Noble to provide the brewery component to the best new BBQ restaurant in Charlotte. SGA|NW is also providing architectural services for Hyde Brewing with an estimated completion in 2020. We partnered with Johnson Studios for the interior design, Vision Builders for the kitchen equipment design and Doerre Construction for completing the up-fit.
