Recently, the NarmourWright team toured six of our projects. We are lucky to have a cluster of projects, all in various phases of construction within a stone’s throw of one another. Therefore, we decided to have a day out of the office to go check out some of our recent projects.
Our first stop was Riverwalk Town Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Riverwalk is a distinctive community with a variety of amenities for an active, outdoor lifestyle. NarmourWright is the architect for several buildings in this district. While at Riverwalk Town Center, we also visited the Pump House Restaurant. NarmourWright designed the re-use of the 1946 water filtration plant to become a unique riverfront restaurant.
Next stop was The Lodge at Waterside. Waterside Lodge is located at the Waterside at the Catawba community by Lennar Homes. The clubhouse design was inspired by a lodge nestled in the mountainous woods. Once entering the clubhouse, you are greeted by the double stone fireplace and the heavy timber columns and beams that surround the room. The great room entry opens to a view of the large pool and lazy river below. We’re excited to see the finished product soon!
The fourth stop on our tour, located in Fort Mill, SC was Kingsley. Kingsley will be the home of two large corporate headquarters, two hotels, multi-family over retail, a large lake, and small shops and restaurants. NarmourWright designed the multi-family housing and some mixed-use retail & apartment buildings for Kingsley. We toured the construction of the multi-family apartments and admired the design and conformity of existing and future structures at Kingsley.
Our fifth stop was The Apartments at Fox Hunt Farms.Fox Hunt is also located in the town of Fort Mill. Residents have recently begun to occupy the completed buildings, though a portion of the site is still under construction. Fox Hunt Farms features a grand resident activity center complete with billiards, a cyber cafe, a community pool & outdoor kitchen, gym, and a large dog park!
Our final stop was Brayden Apartments in Fort Mill, SC. As the group toured the apartments, certain details were highlighted such as larger breezeways and shelving units that go up to the ceilings in the apartments. After speaking with the property manager, we learned several details that tenants appreciate or require in or around their home that will enable us to enhance our future designs.
The project tour was a success! Viewing projects that we are working on or have recently completed with the NarmourWright team was a great learning experience and spurred some great conversations about our work. It’s important to slow down and take the time to appreciate the things our team has accomplished.
