NarmourWright not only commits excellence to our clients, but we also commit excellence to our community. Volunteering our time to local efforts is important to us, it allows us to gain insight into our community needs, enabling us to design and build a better future and environment for the city of Charlotte.
Recently, NarmourWright took part in multiple volunteer opportunities. Kelly Steele, an NWA Project Architect, is a member of CREW Charlotte. CREW recently hosted a Habitat Build in the Charlotte area. Kelly and Krista (a Senior Associate at NWA) participated by installing trim work for the home. The build took place on April 20th and teams volunteered their time to build a home for a local Charlotte family in need.
NarmourWright is also currently volunteering our time and architecture capabilities to Purple Heart Homes. Purple Heart Homes provides housing solutions for service connected disabled veterans. NarmourWright is assisting PHH with the drawings for a home in Denver, NC. Read more about this project here.
The Men’s Shelter of Charlotte is currently renovating their shelter located at 1210 North Tryon Street. The renovation addresses critical repairs that will vastly improve functionality and create an environment that fosters hope for the homeless men of Charlotte. During the renovation, the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte has been temporarily relocated to Statesville Avenue. However, the space does not have a kitchen so they requested for volunteers to help make 150 bagged lunches. So, on May 23rd, NarmourWright committed to preparing, delivering, and distributing lunches to those in need. We gathered our office team and began our assembly line, making 300 PB&J sandwiches, bagging chips, fruit, and a dessert to make 150 lunches. While distributing the lunches we were greeted and graciously thanked by the shelter men for volunteering to support our community.
We look forward to lending our future time and efforts to our community.
